This 214 page book records memories of the market gardening industry of the Tamar Valley region (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), which lies on the Devon / Cornwall border.
The book results from an extensive research project to record the industry before its traces are lost, and an accompanying photographic survey by acclaimed photographer Ted Giffords.
Working with local author Joanna Lewis, we developed a design to present the fascinating text – composed of local reminiscences and anecdotes, with additional historical information – alongside the stunning black and white photographs by Ted Giffords.
In addition to laying out the book and completing the typesetting and editing photographs as required, we also created the face design for the CD included with every copy, containing recordings of local voices telling their stories.
The book was awarded a Holyer An Gof award by the Cornish Gorsedd Council, which praised its design and lay out.
